CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

Hello again, today I must write about some changes I would make to my study programme, which is a bit difficult as I would not know specifically what changes to make but I have some ideas that might work.

As such the curriculum I think there are some areas that could be updated both by teachers and the subject matter, I don't see the point of learning obsolete or underused formulas. As far as teachers are concerned, I think that many should improve their relationship with their students. They should not forget that the university is not a fixed hierarchy and that in recent times they have sought to make it a bilateral system.

I have no complaints about the evaluation system as such, I find that the demands are fair, although many times the times do not correspond according to the demands, but we can always talk and reach agreements. I do have a lot of complaints about the infrastructure of the faculty, which is too small for the number of students and I think that it is very necessary to increase the number of rooms.

In relation to the technologies used in the course of study, I believe that many of them could be updated, computers should be changed (many take a century to work) and the programs that teach us to use should be changed (many are not even used in professional life or newer versions are used). The methodology of study I think is another topic that could be improved and much within the career, many topics that teach us are easier to understand in practice than in a classroom, we should increase the number of fields from my point of view

SUMMER HOLIDAYS

Hi everyone, today I'm going to talk to you about my plans for my future holidays, which I doubt will be this year because of this pandemic thing and my lack of money, but this 2021 I promise to go somewhere.

In my future summer holidays, I would like to be able to go with my four best friends to Puerto Montt and Chiloé. In Puerto Montt we will most likely visit and spend more time at Lake Llanquihue swimming and spending the afternoon, I would also like to be able to take you to the Petrohue falls to appreciate the beautiful scenery and also we could not miss Angelmó to see the handicrafts and take a boat ride.

In Chiloé I hope that we can visit the parks of Tantauco and Chiloé National Park (I couldn't visit the latter the last time I visited Chiloé because of the weather). It would also be fun to visit the pier of the souls.

I would prefer that we go camping in the areas although only one of my friends likes to camp, the others are more about finding a place to stay. But it is a 50/50 to see what we would do, although we can still stay some days in some house and others camping (like in the wharf of the souls).

Despite all the places I mentioned that I would like to visit with them, I think I would not mind going anywhere else just to have some fun with them <3.

POST GRADUATE STUDIES.

Hi, I'm here today to talk about my future study plans, or I'm going to try. I don't plan to continue studying as soon as I leave the University, mainly because of lack of money, I want first to be able to work and pay part of my debts that the University itself has generated.

Having been able to pay back part of the loan that the "CAE" made to me, I would like to study something related to the production of species for conservation and ecosystem restoration plans. As I mentioned before, I am very fascinated by the work in the nursery and I am very satisfied with this work. Although I would have to study in Chile, I don't rule out travelling to Argentina to broaden my knowledge of the whole southern cone, or if I can dream a little more (and the money allows me) to be able to travel to Brazil and broaden my knowledge of Latin American flora even more.

If I could choose, I would prefer to study at the same time as working, I know it's a big challenge but I think I'm capable, as this way I can quickly apply what I'm learning. Besides this way I could continue paying my debt with the "CAE" and allowing me some dreams that I want to fulfil.

MY FUTURE JOB.

As I mentioned in my previous blog, I am currently studying Forest Engineering and within the job possibilities that studying this gives me, I hope to be able to work in a forest nursery surrounded by all kinds of people who are contributing to the conservation of nature.

As I mentioned before, I don't like the idea of being behind a desk all my life and I think that working in a nursery combines a bit of both worlds of forestry, which is field work and research from an office. Maybe my job doesn't allow me to visit many places outside of Chile, but I don't really care about them. I am happy to travel around Chile and see all the wonders it has to offer. Money is another subject that does not interest me much either, if I wanted to earn large amounts of money I would have studied something else (as an accountant or auditor or economy xD), I am satisfied with the satisfaction of knowing that I am being a contribution both to the ecosystem and to future generations (I am also satisfied not having a boring office job).

I hope to pursue a specialization in conservation with a focus on native species, and I also hope to conduct research on the Chilean Palm (a species that has caught my attention since I started my degree) before or after I graduate.

Why I chose my career?

To start this blog, I must go back to when I was in high school. What I remember most from that time was that I wanted to be a civil industrial engineer (the truth is I only wanted to study that for the money), but the truth is that I didn't feel comfortable thinking that I would be all my life in a desk if I decided to study civil engineering. But one day everything changed in my favour when in a university fair I met the forestry engineering career (I have to add that all this happened in my last year of high school), this career had a lot of field work, a high future projection, a high social impact, and if we add my interest in nature (which at that time was just a hobby) it quickly became my main objective at that time.

The first time I gave the PSU forestry engineering was my first option, followed very closely by agronomy, which at that time had the same weight as forestry, but unfortunately I missed 1 point to be able to enter the University of Chile. The second time I had a lot more doubts, although I never doubted that my first option would continue to be Forestry Engineering. This time I applied for more things, such as accounting or a technical career, but this time I made more effort and managed to enter Forestry Engineering.

To this day I do not regret it, despite the doubts I have had in recent times, I have been able to meet a lot of wonderful people and most importantly I have not stopped enjoying my career.

THE BEST MOVIE: SAW

Hello, today I have come to talk to you about my favourite film, a very difficult decision as I am not used to seeing films and the few I do see are not on my own initiative. But I think the only film / saga I could watch over and over again is SAW.

What I like most about the film besides the excessive gore is the creativity of each trap or activity that the characters must go through. All this added to the rawness of the character of Jigsaw that after each film seems to make each test crueller.

The soundtrack of the film and the scenery, despite being very poor in terms of content, I think that instead of subtracting from the film, we all know or most of us recognise the main theme of the film "Hello Zepp", which just listening to it reminds me of the best scenes in the saga

In spite of all this it is not the best within the genre and it is very criticized by many, partly I agree after the third delivery the film seems to lose a little the sense, compared to others within the genre it seems to abuse much of the gore.

But I like it for having been the one that introduced me to the genre and also in great part the one that put the genre on the table, besides it can't be denied that the first one is the best that has ever existed.

THE BEST HOLIDAYS

People who had English 3 with me last semester will know this story, but for those of you who won't tell it to them next:

One of my best holidays came this past summer. I went with my friends from the high school to camp for a few days in Melipila at an artificial lake in the area.

I remember that we went there in the middle of the summer and that my friends didn't bring a sleeping bag so we had to occupy mine to sleep the four of us. I also remember that we rented a canoe and almost turned around in the middle of the lake, and I also remember drinking a lot but that is a separate issue.

I wouldn't know why it was one of the best, but I think it was because of the spontaneity of the situation that one day we got together and said "it's so boring in Santiago, let's go camping tomorrow" and we left. Besides, too many things happened that I don't know how to explain but that I remember with a lot of love and laughter.
